As a business owner, your brand is no different. It’s value will deteriorate if you don’t maintain it. That means regular maintenance on your website, logo and print materials.

Website. If you don’t upgrade your site regularly, it will be vulnerable to hacking. It may find it’s links going out of date. Google constantly changes it’s algorithms so your site should be responsive to Google, who will lower your ranking if your site has low quality backlinks or lots of duplicate content. Technology, software and plug ins are updated all the time, so a poor level of maintenance could mean your business will suffer.

Print materials. As with your website, information changes, so by not maintaining content, photographs and contact information, you will lose customers. Design and typography fashions change so keeping the same brochures, business cards, direct mail and other marketing materials for years and years makes you and your business look stale and out of date.

Logo. Even your logo needs a check up periodically  to make sure that it is still portraying the right visual message that it was intended for.
